Assistant Project Manager & Safety Officer

Metro Paving and Roadbuilding Ltd. is currently seeking an energetic, positive individual to fill a new position. The successful candidate will have some previous construction experience, with a preference given to those candidates possessing (or completing) their CET. You will be a key component of our organization working along-side our highly experienced and trained project management team. You will assist on tender bids, project management, pre-qualifications, job-site preparation, progress billing, estimating, scheduling, collections, and all other project responsibilities. In addition you will be trained and certified as a company safety officer, responsible for administration and implementation of our safety program. Previous experience as a safety officer would be an asset; however we are prepared to train.
This position is ideally suited for a self-motivated individual that likes a diverse range of responsibilities; one who can multi-task and work well under pressure, you must possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft excel and a standard computer environment, and are willing to learn. This position will be required to travel; you must possess a valid driver’s license. We offer a hard working construction environment, benefit package, and 4-weeks vacation per year plus time off between Christmas and New Years.
