Projects

Metro's experience covers a wide range of projects. Use the links below to view some details of our work, past and present.

Residential

Metro has completed numerous residential developments over the past 25 plus years.  This work includes subdivisions, multi-family or condo parking lots, acreage driveways or access roads.  Metro completed work in Calgary, numerous rural towns, hamlets, and municipalities around southern Alberta and B.C.  The construction methods to complete this work can include geo-textile filter fabric, granular fill, culverts, asphalt, and asphalt tack oil.  Metro does in cases act as the general contractor; completing and subbing out underground water and sewer utilities, concrete, and landscaping.

Commercial

Metro has in recent years familiarized the company more into the commercial sector.  With a growing province and a strong client base Metro has found the work to be a flourishing part of the company.  Work on numerous parking lots and access roads, whether new or existing, have been fulfilled to customer’s satisfaction.  Metro works quick and effectively to complete this work under strict schedules.

Pathways

Metro has and will continue completing a wide variety of different pathways for a lot of diverse uses.  For example, the pathway located at the Nordic Center in Canmore was completed in 2007 and is used as a walking, biking, and summer cross-country skiing trail by the public along with high-caliber Canadian athletes.  Metro has finished multiple golf course pathway systems in the past including Sundre Golf Club, Heritage Pointe Golf & Country Club and will continue in the future with projects in 2008 including Lakes of Murfield Golf Course located in Lyalta, Alberta.  Public pathways in residential, commercial and park areas are also a large portion of Metro’s seasonal work.

Highways

Metro has been involved in more than a few large and small scale highway construction projects.  This type of work has consisted of new construction, design-build, re-alignment, and many overlays.  We do sub out items to contractors such as crack sealing, chip sealing, concrete and underground utilities.  The work has been completed across southern Alberta and B.C. with a majority of the work positioned in the interior Kootenay B.C.
